Island Tour Bus
The Island Tour Sightseeing Bus is a convenient sightseeing bus that departs and arrives at Tonosho Port and takes you around Shodoshima's tourist spots in one day.
This tour with a guide is recommended for those who can't decide where to start sightseeing on Shodoshima or who are worried about driving on their own in unfamiliar areas!
Audio guides (Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean) are also available via smartphone apps.

Greeting the Great Kannon statue, which has been awarded as the world's most beautiful and gentle Kannon statue
The valley, created by erosion of rocks born from volcanic activity, is counted as one of the "Three Great Valleys of Japan." Enjoy the spectacular view from the summit.
The open set used in the filming of the 1987 movie remains, creating an atmosphere that makes you feel as if you have traveled back in time to the Showa era. The view of the calm Seto Inland Sea from the classroom windows is exceptional.
This memorial museum is where you can learn about the history and development of Shodoshima's tsukudani. The building is a tasteful remodel of the original factory where the company was founded, and displays videos and panels that introduce the history of tsukudani from its origins to the present day.
Olive groves, herb gardens, and Greek windmills line the grounds, creating a Mediterranean-like landscape. There is also an olive memorial museum and hot spring facilities.

* Regarding ropeway suspension periods
The Kankakei Ropeway will be closed from Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 to Friday, February 6th, 2026 due to facility renewal work.
You will not be able to ride the ropeway. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
As a substitute, we will provide Shodoshima specialties. We apologize for any inconvenience. (Updated June 18, 2025)

About the Kankakei Ropeway
This bus will head to the "summit" of Kankakei Gorge. If you choose to take the ropeway, it will be a one-way trip from the summit to the base (Kountei Station), and the fare is included in the tour price. A bus will pick you up at the base. Guests who do not use the ropeway will have lunch and sightseeing at the summit, then travel to the base by bus.
Getting off near your accommodation
On the return journey via Ginpaura, you can get off near lodgings along the route.
About lunch
Lunch will be served at your leisure at the summit of Kankakei. Please note that there may be a waiting time depending on the crowds.
Wednesday service
Shodoshima Tsukudani Restaurant Ittokuan: As the shop is closed every Wednesday, we will instead stop by the shop at the Marukin Soy Sauce Memorial Museum.
